About TreStykker

The primary goal of Trestykker is to provide students with hands-on building experience, while creating an arena where they can connect across different schools to benefit from each other's knowledge and areas of focus. This opportunity also allows students to build valuable networks for their future careers. By following a project from the initial idea through to completion, the workshop gives students essential experience in project management, logistics, and construction.

Trestykker has been organized seventeen times previously, garnering significant national and international interest. Every structure has been designed, planned, and built entirely by students. Past realized projects include a floating campfire in Bergen, a “breathing space” at Majorstua in Oslo, an exhibition space for architecture and art in Trondheim, a boathouse in Bjørvika, a playground in Bergen’s Nordnesparken, and an urban park in Brekstad on Ørlandet.

The responsibility for the workshop rotates between the four schools, and this year it is held by the Bergen School of Architecture (BAS). For 2026, Trestykker is taking a new direction as we head to the southwest coast to collaborate with the cultural hub Tou Scene in Stavanger. Trestykker maintains an active network of contacts and sponsors whom we collaborate with to help bring these projects to life.
