TOU LANDSKAP
A sitting area based on the roots of the wood it came from.
TreStykker 2026 took place at TOU in Stavanger.
The design is based on the idea of offering to Øst, the local Bar, a wooden outside space usable for sitting, laying and relaxing in the sun. 3 steps were createt for the sitting, with angles at 45 degrees, enabling a more intimate way of facing each other, while giving a more organic feeling to the structure.
Fittid to the slopped terrain and aiming to create the feeling of roots taking over this corner of Tou, the design had to have movable pieces for access to the ventilation system and the possible use of a stage during summer.
Inspired by nature, bringing some back in this built space was a must, therefore the benches host two plant boxes, one for the tree from which the roots are growing from (at the top) and one for flowers and coulours (by the lamp post).
TreStykker 2026 has been built by an amazing team of 4 students, and designed with the help of a 5th one.
